Amazon Product Review - Sleepingo Ultralight Camping Sleeping Pad

If you are unfamiliar with camping sleeping pads, they are used underneath your sleeping bag so that when you’re out camping, you feel as if you’re in your nice comfy bed at home…Needless to say, very few, if any, supply this sensation.

With that being said, sleeping pads are very important to get something between yourself and the ground where you lose body heat and could run the risk of getting your sleeping bag wet or dirty. There are a few different kinds of sleeping pads. The three main categories are air pads, self-inflating pads, and closed-cell foam pads.

Air pads are just what they sound like, fill the pad with air, it blows up and creates a cushion for your to sleep on. Self-inflating pads function in a similar way sometimes with the air cushion that is blown up on its own and some extra padding. closed cell foam pads are very thin pads that are typically used underneath another sleeping pad in cold conditions but can also be used on its own.

The Sleepingo Ultralight Camping Sleeping Pad is a very lightweight air pad. Weighing in at only 14.5 oz and packing down to be able to fit inside a 32 oz Nalgene bottle, this lightweight camping sleeping pad is one of those items you’ll forget is in your bag.

When fully inflated, the pad measures 75 inches in length, 25 inches in width, and is around 2 inches thick. As someone who is 5’11” and 200 lbs, I can say from first-hand experience, this sleeping pad works really well for me. I have slept on it directly in the dirt, in a tent, and in a hammock and each experience was more comfortable than the next.

When I first got my hands on this pad I was concerned about having to inflate it. With it being ultra-light and great for backpacking, I didn’t want to get done with a 10-mile hike and then have to spend 30 minutes blowing into the pad to get a good night’s sleep.

I’ve learned that with just 8 lungs full of air I’m able to fully inflate the pad. With a secure air nozzle cap and inner rubber lip that keeps air from leaking, this pad has always held the air through the night with no leaks. Roll on a rock or sharp stick in your sleep and puncture the pad? It comes with a small patch kit that easily packs into the bag.

Overall I would highly recommend this camping sleeping pad to anyone looking for a lightweight option that is great for backpacking. While there are probably more comfortable options out there, I haven’t found a sleeping pad that is as good of a combination of comfort, packability, and price as this one.
